By | Uncategorised

New Online Workshop 23rd Jan 2021 2pm ! Tickets are £35 and are now available to purchase! Please email Ailie at contactailieclark@gmail.com to book your place!

Join professional Illustrator Ailie Clark for an online workshop on How To Paint Plants with Gouache!

What do you need to know?

Other than a basic knowledge of colour theory (but do not worry we will cover this too) you will need no previous experience of painting with gouache to participate! The workshop will develop skills and show you how to apply techniques giving you the confidence to start to develop your own style.

The workshop will touch upon colour theory and paint techniques helping you to become familiar with how to use this beautiful medium. You will practice mixing colours, experimenting with paint techniques and you’ll move onto sketching, creating a composition and using the techniques you’ve learnt.

* Breakdown of the workshop! We’ll start with basic colour theory, colour mixing and practice paint and brush stroke techniques along with tips on how to sketch.

* You’ll then work on a final piece/s, sketching and painting. By the end of the workshop you’ll be well on your way to developing your own unique painting style.

Get a brew or a beer and some snacks and lets settle in for a fun creative afternoon of painting!

How it will work;

Once you have booked your place on the workshop you will receive your E-Ticket that confirms your place as well as a downloadable pdf of materials.

The workshop will take place over Zoom. Ailie will introduce you to the workshop and how everything will work. This is a self paced online workshop with 1.5 hours of tuition. The workshop is recorded and available via a private link for a week after the workshop date.

Awareness Badges!

By | Uncategorised

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the easing of lockdown and how we are all having to reintroduce ourselves back into the world; for some, especially those that have been shielding, this can come with a lot of anxiety. So along with my design buddy, Ry Kitching, we put our heads together to create a badge that will hopefully help to make others aware that some may be more cautious about being back in public spaces, whilst hopefully creating a little peace of mind for those that want to take it slower than others.

Priced at £7.50 with free delivery! 2 Badges per set (one of each colour).

Simply email me at contactailieclark@gmail.com to order!
You’ve got till Wed (15th July) midnight to pre-order. UPDATE 03/08/20 : A small amount of badges are still available to purchase and badges are also available in store at Form on Humber Street, Hull.

All profits will be donated to NHS charities and @versusarthritis

Showcase !

By | Uncategorised

Showcase at Form 62 Humber St Hull.

7th March – 5th April 2020

8th March celebration of International Women’s day I will be doing an artists meet and greet from 1pm-3pm in store!

Description:

‘Ailie Clark is a freelance Illustrator based in Hull and works out of her studio in
Humber Streets, Juice. She creates fun, beautifully nostalgic illustrations
influenced by her love of bold colours and simplicity of line. She has created
work for clients such as the NHS and exhibited in large shows such as Print
Club London Blisters 2018.  Ailie is in the early stages of her career as an
Illustrator and hopes to build upon her already growing portfolio.
Being an illustrator it is Ailie’s job to visualise a message or meaning. Her
showcase is no different.
Ailie lives with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and a few months ago whilst at
the Rheumatology clinic she noticed something… all the patients were
female. This made her think, how many women live with this in comparison to
men?
This thought then expanded to other autoimmune conditions. Ailie set about
researching and found that 75% of people with autoimmune/invisible diseases
are women. The reason? Well it’s not clear but it is thought that the drastic
changes in hormones that women experience in their lifetimes could be a
factor.
Ailie knows many amazing women that live with autoimmune/invisible
diseases and has created this showcase to celebrate them. Their illnesses
may be invisible but their badassery isn’t.’

NHS 70th Anniversary Mural

By | Uncategorised

In July (2018) it was a pleasure to be asked to collaborate on a project that celebrates 70 years of the NHS.

The project was to create a mural that celebrates the 70 years of the NHS and to highlight the many changes that have occurred in the NHS as a whole as well as in Hull and East Yorkshire. The NHS has played a major role in my life and to be able to be involved and give a little something back was an honour.

To have 70 years of free health care is blessing and here’s hoping for many more!
